Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any destruction is uncertain and the United States has remained silent.

Airspace Engagements

Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on Iran carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas associated with the the regime, with US President Donald Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israeli military said it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with high efficiency and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

It said debris landed in a residential area in Abu Dhabi, causing some structural damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
